Don't the best ideas come from necessity? DJ Inkers certainly did. In December of 1990, Dianne was working as an artist for several companies in the crafting market, and decided to venture out and try her 'own thing' for a local holiday boutique in Utah. The first Cut & Copy clip art books were an immediate success, with a distinct and whimsical style that could add a smile to any project. :)
DJ Inkers grew by leaps and bounds as Dianne continued to doodle and the whole family worked from our home & garage to expand the product line. We manufactured hundreds of rubber stamp designs and licensed our art for cute stickers, notepads and more, but 1994 brought the biggest advancement of all: Cut & Copy for computers. These floppy disks held our first 'Dazzling' monthly clip art series and a collection of handwritten, designer fonts! Using the computer as a crafting tool and a way to customize your projects and create something so easily (without a run to the copy store in the middle of the night) was so remarkable. It wasn't long before Cut & Copy CD's hit shelves nationwide, followed by an Entrepreneur of the Year award and huge success for DJ Inkers.
From there, our story has evolved many times. We've created and licensed all sorts of products, with everything from classroom decorations & bulletin boards to designer scrapbooking papers and printable greeting cards. But, with trends and technology ever changing, we began converting our clip art and fonts from CD's into digital downloads. Now, customers can shop and receive purchases instantly... so the creative process (the fun part) can begin right away.
